The Field Engineer will report directly to the Commissioning Authority.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide project commissioning support as required by the project requirements across the country
• Review project requirements and implement necessary plans and tests for the commissioning process
• Coordinate and perform necessary commissioning activities with project design team
• Coordinate meetings and interface with the project associated contractors as necessary to complete project requirements
• Perform on-site observations, inspection, testing, validation, and verification of building systems and prepare associated documentation
• Exceed client expectations to improve client relationships
• Review and analyze energy management system trends
• Peer review HVAC, plumbing, and lighting controls plans
• Attend jobsite meetings and field surveys as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in building systems commissioning
• Experience – 5 years of experience as a TAB or Control technician; additional experience in controls design and/or HVAC design preferred
• Ability to obtain a nationally recognized commissioning certification within 3 years, LEED AP a plus
• Possess strong client management skills
• Knowledge of basic HVAC system design within the building design and construction industry. This includes understanding principles and equipment to test various mechanical and refrigeration systems and their components
• We are seeking a candidate with the understanding and ability to test the following systems within commercial applications:
  • HVAC systems, including chiller and boiler plants and systems
  • Plumbing system equipment
  • Temperature Controls
  • Exhaust and ventilation systems
  • Lighting controls
• Experience in various markets including biotechnology/laboratories, healthcare, commercial facilities, higher educational institutions, and governmental facilities is preferred
